Estimating software

Contractor estimating software, built for your trade

Shadow Projects builds estimating software for contractors. We built it for Beacon Electrical: search materials by keyword, pick the size, difficulty and quantity, and the labor hours total themselves.

What does the estimating software do?

You search materials by keyword, with images, so you pick the right part. Choose the size, difficulty and quantity, and it totals the labor hours. Every bid can be saved and named, so you can find it again.

Can it handle the assemblies you use on every job?

Yes. Build a custom assembly once and it saves to a reusable library, so the next bid that needs it doesn’t start from scratch.

How do labor units stay up to date?

Upload a PDF and AI extracts the data to update the labor units, instead of you retyping them.

Who was it built for?

We built it for Beacon Electrical. Chris Temple put it this way in his Google review:

“I’m an electrical contractor, i needed simple estimating software that i could not find anywhere on the market, these guys made it happen and the process was so smooth. Absolutely would recommend”

Can quotes be followed up automatically?

We can build automatic quote follow-ups into your platform, on the schedule you choose. To track where your leads come from, see contractor CRM and lead tracking.

Common questions

Is this off-the-shelf estimating software?

No. We build it around how you price and run jobs, so the materials, assemblies and labor units are yours.

How long does a build take?

Simple tools can be working in about a week. Full platforms get a firm go-live date on the first call, and you review working milestones, not mockups.

Who owns the estimating software?

When the build is paid in full, ownership of the code, IP and data transfers to you. No license, no per-seat fees, no lock-in.
